The owners bought an
old hut (poultry) in ruins in a small semi-abandoned
village in the Pyrenees of Huesca. The
location is
unbeatable, with a
Romanesque church of XII century just 15
meters
away. The assignment is to
make a vacation house of small size but
very
flexible.
We decided to fully respect the
envelope of dry stone walls and simply
place a cover as a hat over these walls
to
conveniently adjust the interior.
The generous dimensions of the hut allow
us to place
this cover in the middle
of the poultry separating both the front
and the
rear wall and creating two
courtyards that enlighten us abundantly
inside the
dwelling without making
any new opening in the stone walls, which
are fully respected.
Although rustic appearance is due to the
large presence of the stone walls,
we tried to make a very modern inside,
light and
flexible so it can be used
comfortably by two, four or six people.
