The construction of this home comes from the interest in the study of new
construction methods through standardization and prefabrication.
The lack of
skilled labor, which makes
the constructive process increasingly arduous and
uncertain, the attempt to
accelerate the implementation of the work to
reduce time and the search
of systems where the use of energy and resources
are more balanced makes us
decide for prefabrication as a construction
system and wood as the main
material.
When designing the house we look more at the real needs of habitability than
impositions
of regulations so an individual bedroom can have a meager 3 m2.
All parts of the structure, enclosures, partitions and floors are designed
specifically for this house,
being ourselves the builders of all elements of the
home. For exterior finishing we
use heat treated spruce boards over a a
substructure
of the same wood and various insulators. The pavement tiles are
made with chipboard finished
with microcement. The interior walls and ceilings
are made with chipboard finished
with white latex paint.
The construction of this prototype helps us to refine and improve the design of
housing
facing potential commercialization.
